On Tuesday we were slightly disappointed with SWORD OF THE LORD run at Ascot. He was held up well in touch in a midfield position early on and was soon ridden with little response well over two furlongs out. He appears to be slightly in the grasp of the handicapper, but hopefully he will be capable of winning again. Earlier in the day we had seen a good effort from SALTWATER CREEK at Pontefract. She took a keen hold when held up towards the rear. She made some good headway and kept on nicely to chase the winner. She is certainly improving all the time and would not be inconvenienced by a step up in trip.

Today we have seen a promising debut run from CHATHAM HOUSE RULE at Thirsk. He tracked the leaders and appeared to be taking a keen enough hold. He was driven over two furlongs out and stayed on. He certainly showed a level of ability and is entitled to build on this.

Tomorrow we have just the two runners. We start the afternoon of at Newmarket with MADAME DEFARGE in the Group 3 Dahlia Stakes. She has always been held in high regard in the yard and looks to have strengthened well over the winter. She has been working nicely and as long as the ground does not dry up too much we expect a good run from her. Later on the card VALEN is hoping to progress from her recent Yarmouth run. She appears to have come on for this race and should be competitive.

On Monday FASHION LINE is another who is hoping that the ground does not alter from its current status. She is an amazing filly who on her form should take all the beating in this particular event. At Warwick we start the afternoon off with TARANDO who gave a pleasing debut run at Newmarket on her first start. She appears to have progressed and hopefully we have found a race she can be competitive in. Later on the card BED BED is looking to break her maiden tag and with the application of the first time visor, hopefully this will do the trick. Her work at home has definitely improved and it would be great to see her score her first victory.

Today the horses worked on the peat moss.
