On Monday we had declared VALEN at Yarmouth. She raced in touch in a midfield position and was asked for her effort over two furlongs out. She made minimal progress and looked to get tired entering the final furlong. She is sure to have needed the run and will certainly come on for the race. Later on the card we were delighted with PIAZON’S victory. He took a keen hold early on and closed, to lead two furlong out. He was ridden to go clear and ran on to score comfortably. He was given a good ride by Louis Steward and looks an exciting horse for this season.

On Tuesday AROUSAL started the afternoon off for us at Yarmouth. She certainly showed more than on debut run at Windsor, but it looks as though she will be seen to better effect over six furlongs. Later on the card ZACYNTHUS dwelt slightly at the start, but soon recovered to chase the field. He was ridden and asked for effort to press the leader and had every chance over one furlong out. He stayed on at the one pace to finish fourth. He looked as though on this evidence he would have been better suited by seven furlongs and not the mile. Our last runner at the track was HOT MUSTARD. Well in touch in midfield early on he was ridden and asked for his effort to press the leader’s well over one furlong out. He was soon outpaced and was beaten inside the final furlong. He is sure to come on for the run and should hopefully go close next time if given a bit of relief from the handicapper. At Wolverhampton we were delighted with the effort of NAM HAI. He was always kept prominent and was shaken up to lead. He ran on readily inside the final furlong and looks a colt that has plenty of scope for further progress.

On Thursday we have declared THATCHEREEN at Beverley. She looks to have wintered really well and hopefully has the makings of a nice filly this season. At Warwick we have declared BOURBON PRINCE a runner. He looks to be progressing and hopefully we have found a race he can be competitive in.

On Friday we have declared SHANTI. He has looked really good in his work this season and we are sure he is a nice horse. He deserves a change of fortune and a smooth run as we are sure he could be decent. He certainly looks the part.

Today the horses worked on the peat moss.
